10/9/2013 - A Letter To A Friend
Dear Friend,
Hey! What is up? How is life? Now that you are a lot less stressed, you should start mailing me. :P Okay! So, guess what! I started knitting. You know, like how a lot of older people do. Haha. It is so cool though. I made an infinity scarf and I think that next I will make a few blankets. It's kind of fun, but knitting takes loads of yarn.

10/8/2013 - A Letter To Grandma E.
Dear Grandma,
I really enjoyed receiving your letter the other day. It was so delightful. The way you write is so wonderful. It is as if you are talking through the paper. I laughed a few times while reading your letter. I also teared up a little. Grandma, I love you and I miss you so much. Are you doing well? I really hope you are doing well? How is Uncle Lester? He hasn't seen a doctor yet, has he?
Your stories about our Native American past are so lovely. Thank you for sharing. I love getting in touch with my roots. Your story telling is so amazing. Have you ever seen the movie Pocahontas? That was my favorite movie when I was younger and it still kind of is. If you have not seen it, you should look it up. There is a wise tree in Pocahontas and the tree is so majestic, all knowing, one with the world, and just has an outstanding view of the earth. That wise tree reminds me of you.
As I did enjoy learning a little more about my roots, you were right. I am still left with so many more questions. It's nice to have some more answers though. I understand why our past relatives never signed the peace treaty. I'm proud of them too. I wouldn't understand how they could sign it after all that they have been through.
Speaking of Native American culture, what do you feel towards the "Native American" fashion trends? I was reading an article about how designers have been coming out with clothing lines that they call "Native", "Indian American", and so on. They have ponchos, blankets, dream catchers, headdresses, and so on. I guess Native Americans are getting upset over it because of what the designers are copying. The Native Americans are saying that some things are okay to copy, but some things are not. I know some of the types of clothing and such that Native Americans wear are for religious purposes. And wearing a Native American's religious clothing when you are not of that religion or belief is like wearing a Muslim's clothing for a fashion statement. I don't know. I am curious as to what your view point is on all that. What do you think?
